CLASS DESCRIPTION: This workshop is intended for ALL levels of artists and is designed for learning efficient and easy techniques that will improve your artistic skills. We planned this workshop for Your Enjoyment and Instructional Value. All participants will receive individual instruction throughout the workshop. *All participants shall receive an 11” x 10” sketch on 140# C.P. watercolor paper - ready to be painted as well as a photograph of the subject. Morning Session - 9:00am to 12:00 noon The workshop begins with a short demonstration by the Instructor showing several very helpful painting techniques you can use for painting this subject. All participants then begin their individual paintings while the Instructor proceeds to visit with each participant for individual instruction. Lunch – 12:00 noon Afternoon Session - 12:30pm to 3:00pm The workshop begins with a short question & answer period. All participants then continue with their paintings while the Instructor visits with each participant for individual instruction. Discussion - 3:00pm to 3:30pm Participants may request a critique from the Instructor MATERIALS NEEDED: Extra Watercolor Paper: For testing colors and practicing watercolor techniques. Brushes: Your favorite brushes - Flats, Rounds, Fan, Liners & others *** “Pointy” Rounds" and “Sharp Chisel” Flats Watercolor Paints: Bring your Existing Palette “Warm” & “Cool” Primary Colors Reds: Alizarin Crimson – Quin. Red - Perm. Red & Your other Reds Blues: Ultramarine Blue - Cobalt Blue – Cerulean Blue & Your other Blues Yellows: Lemon Yellow - Indian Yellow – Yellow Ochre & Your other Yellows Other Colors: Sap Green, Viridian or Phthalo Green, Hooker’s Green Light, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Quin. Burnt Orange, Jaune Brilliant 1/Peachy Keen, Titanium White. General Notes: My Favorites Watercolor Paper: Arches & Saunders/Waterford - Cold Pressed Brushes: Professional – Synthetic for basic painting & Kolinsky for Finishing WC Paints: Daniel Smith, M. Graham, DaVinci, Rembrant, Holbein Misc. Items: Painting Board, Paper Towels, Scrapers/Knife, Sponges, Pencils, Ruler & Erasers, Spray Bottle, tape, camera, note pad, etc There will be a 30 min break for lunch.
