What's for Breakfast

Your innkeeper Mr. Brown, is always delighted to share his knowledge of the area with guests visiting the Villa Serena Inn.  He will gladly provide you with the information you may need about restaurants entertainment, galleries, antique shops, beaches, museums, historic sites, and of course shopping too.

As an innkeeper, Mr. Brown has been associated with Bed & Breakfast establishments for more than 35 years.  Prior to the Villa Serena Inn in Sarasota, he owned and operated several other historic inns in the mid-west.  Decades of experience have given Mr. Brown a vast knowledge of all aspects of inn-keeping.  Perhaps you too, are considering owning and operating a Bed and Breakfast Inn at some time in the future.  If so, Mr. Brown will answer any questions you may have about this increasingly popular occupation.

As a preservationist, Mr. Brown has actively restored or supervised the restoration of significant landmarks  from coast to coast, occasionally rescuing notable buildings from imminent demolition.  As an example, acquisition of the historic Villa Serena Inn in 1998 prevented others from tearing down this magnificent structure, to replace it with an open-air parking lot.  Through Mr. Brown's dedicated efforts, the Villa Serena Inn is now protected by historic landmark designation, and recognized by the State of Florida and the United States Department of the Interior, as a surviving example of Mediterranean Revival architecture of national importance.  If you have any questions about home improvement or historic restoration projects of your own, just ask Mr. Brown for his advice.

As a world traveler, Mr. Brown's past journeys have taken him to Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, the Caribbean, and the south pacific.  He has walked on the Great Wall of China and visited the Forbidden City and Ming Dynasty Tombs, explored the Great Pyramid near Cairo, toured the Coliseum and Forum at Rome, and marveled at the Parthenon, above the Acropolis at Athens.  He has snorkeled over the Great Barrier Reef off the north coast of Australia, and joined safari expeditions to study wild life in Kenya.  World travel is a subject Mr. Brown enjoys discussing with others.
